Especially Important for Legacy Keyboards
Understand the Memory Requirements
Several editions require installed sample-memory hardware. The older MOTIF XS and MOTIF ES also lose their loaded samples whenever power is removed.
Some Keyboards Need Additional Hardware
Do not purchase a legacy edition until you have confirmed the required DIMM sample RAM or flash expansion board is already installed. A USB drive alone does not provide the internal memory needed to play these sample-based libraries.
Modern editions require available internal flash memory ranging from approximately 900 MB to one gigabyte.
The dedicated MONTAGE M Pro Edition requires two gigabytes of available internal memory.
These versions require an installed FL1024M one-gigabyte flash expansion board.
DIMM sample RAM is volatile. Loaded samples disappear after any shutdown, restart or power interruption.
