Memory Expansion Is Mandatory
This library contains sampled waveforms and cannot be used from the keyboard’s factory memory alone. The XS and XF use different expansion systems. Confirm the exact hardware installed inside your keyboard before purchasing.
DIMM Sample RAM
Requires 512MB or 1GB of compatible DIMM sample RAM installed inside the keyboard. The DIMM memory is volatile.
Every power-off or power cycle erases the loaded sampled sounds. They must be loaded again before the next church service, rehearsal, gig or event.

The Complete User Bank 1 Voice List
The bank contains acoustic pianos, digital pianos, electric pianos, worship strings, synth pads, brass, bells, analog leads and additional workstation voices.
Voice names and locations match the published library bank so customers can see exactly what is included before purchasing.
Voices 001–007
The primary piano and electric-piano foundation of the library.

Ensemble layers and classic acoustic or FM-inspired keyboard voices.

Atmospheric, choir, brass and ensemble material from the broader workstation collection.

All Voices Are Included — Performance Layers Are Not
The original MOXF, MONTAGE and MODX versions include Performance layers. Those layers could not be transferred to this XS/XF library because of differences in synthesizer technology.
Every published individual voice remains included. The product overview uses the MOXF version for demonstration, but the individual voices are presented as sounding the same on the MOTIF XS.

Basic Purchase and Loading Workflow
The exact menu steps are provided with the download. These four checks should happen before purchase and before an important service or event.
Confirm the Exact Model
Verify that the keyboard is a Yamaha MOTIF XS or MOTIF XF.
Confirm Installed Memory
XS needs compatible DIMM sample RAM. XF needs the FL1024M one-gigabyte flash board.
Prepare the USB Drive
Use a USB flash drive with at least one gigabyte of capacity.
Follow the Included Instructions
Use the supplied XS/XF loading instructions to place the library into the correct memory system.
MOTIF XS Owners: Load Before the Service Begins
Because the XS DIMM memory is volatile, powering down or power-cycling the keyboard removes all loaded sampled sounds. Allow enough time to reload the library before church service, rehearsal, a gig or another event.

Will this work without expanded memory?
No. The sampled waveforms require installed expansion memory. MOTIF XS needs compatible DIMM sample RAM, while MOTIF XF needs an FL1024M 1GB flash board.
Will 512MB work in the MOTIF XS?
The published product requirement accepts either 512MB or 1GB of compatible DIMM sample RAM in the MOTIF XS.
What happens when the MOTIF XS is powered off?
The samples loaded into DIMM memory are erased. The library must be loaded again after the next power-up.
Does the MOTIF XF lose the installed samples after power-off?
The required FL1024M is nonvolatile flash memory and retains installed waveform and sample data after the keyboard is turned off.
Are Performance layers included?
No. All published individual voices are included, but the Performance layers found in newer Yamaha versions could not be included because of differences in synthesizer technology.
How many voices are included?
The complete published User Bank contains 28 voices.
Are loading instructions included?
Yes. Instructions for loading the library into the MOTIF XS and XF are supplied with the digital download.
Can Wise Sound troubleshoot my MOTIF XS hardware?
Wise Sound does not own a MOTIF XS and cannot provide detailed MOTIF XS hardware support beyond the supplied product instructions. Customers are responsible for hardware-specific technical support.
