The PCM EX-ploration Library for Kontakt showcases some of the best PCM Sampled Sounds coming from some of the best Vintage keyboards!

The primary group of included sounds in this library come from the
Legendary EX5 Synthesizer.

Without writing an essay on the EX5, it was a late 90’s Synth that sadly wasn’t fully appreciated until well after it’s discontinuation for it’s bold attempt of being the best all-in-one Synthesizer!

Besides it’s inclusion of PCM Samples, it featured various other methods of Tone Generation such as “FDSP” - Formulated Digital Sound Processing, “VL” - Virtual Acoustic and “AN” - Analog Physical Modeling.

We did not try to re-create any of those Tone Generation methods with this Library, but thought that basic sampled versions of these sounds running within Kontakt could still be of great use to the working Musician!

In addition to select EX5 Sounds, we also have included high quality PCM Sounds from other Legendary Vintage Keyboards as well!

    - This “Glide” effect bends the pitch of a selected sound during it’s initial attack. This is similar to holding down the pitch bend wheel, playing a chord and immediately once the chord is struck, smoothly releasing the pitch bend wheel to it’s default position. This pitch bended effect is heavily used in R&B, Hip Hop, Neo Soul & Gospel Music.

  • Global Analog Pitch Drift for an INSTANT DX7 Feel!

    An empty Element uses ZERO RAM!

  • Smart Polyphony :
    Sustaining a note/chord and playing said note/chord repeatedly will cap it's polyphony at 3. With most libraries, hammering one note or chord and continuing to do so would continuously raise the polyphony until you reach the libraries' cap (usually 128). Now it will limit each voice/note to 3, allowing you to play as much as you want whilst never building up unnecessary polyphony.

Within Kontakt, Snapshots are simply a saved state of the library.
More specifically, this is comprised of sound layers for you to instantly recall.

Saving a new User Preset is as simple as clicking the the “Floppy Disk” save icon
as seen in the picture above.
